Symphony is renowned for its first class customer service to ensure it maintains its competitive edge. In order to achieve this they use state of the art, highly resilient IT systems that are fully supported by the hardware vendors and are replaced every 4 years. It is this re-investment cycle that has allowed Symphony to maintain impressive up-time statistics for its entire IT infrastructure, which in turn has enabled the business to drive additional growth across its customer base.
Keytech has worked closely with Symphony for over 15 years providing a mix of support and managed services. This includes an onsite help desk team of 6 staff, managed and monitored Server for over 160 servers, fully managed disk to disk backup and managed Firewall services across multiple sites.
Keytech provide these services using best of breed products from leading vendors. The Server and VMware estate are managed and monitored using N-able software, the backups use Veeam for both on and offsite images and the firewalls are managed using Checkpoint enterprise class software.
Over the past 12 months Symphony has completed a comprehensive hardware re-fresh of the backend systems and Keytech Consultants have been closely involved in this project; which was delivered on time and on budget
As part of the refresh, N-Series Storage was replaced with an IBM XIV and 4 physical ESX hosts were replaced with 8 IBM X Series Servers; both storage and servers have given additional capacity to support business growth over the next 4 years. At the same time, the version of VMWare was upgraded from 4.1 to 5.1, which was completed with minimal downtime for the 160 plus virtual servers. The project also included an Active Directory upgrade from version 2008 to 2008R2 of Microsoft Domain and included the deployment of new hardware for these DC’s across the client’s 4 sites.
